FLORA and FAUNA of Rwanda

Cute lizard at Genocide memorial Centre.

Praying mantis missing one front leg
(thanks to Marjoulaine for this photo).

The locals said it was an eagle - it certainly looks like one!

And they are just as annoying here as they are at home!

There is absolutely nowhere here that you won't find a banana treee growing.

Creepy 'Little Shop of Horrors' type plant near the museum.

Pineapple? A close cousin maybe.

In the Genocide Memorial Centre Garden

Cactus tree - trunk of a tree, leaves just like cactus. Found behind the cathedral in Butare.

Met these two drenched goats while hiking with Jane and Jean near Shogwe.

The single most common plant here!

Hayley's puppy (now called 'Pappy' as that is how the local children heard the word).
